Inventory EDGE is a physical inventory management addon for Microsoft
Retail Management System Store Operations.
Inventory EDGE runs on the Symbol PDT 8100 and PPT 2800 units.
Inventory information is sent in realtime to Store Operations via
a wireless 802.11b network.
The item's description, department, and category are shown on the
device as it is scanned. Employees can update the bin locations
and prices of items as inventory is taken. A history of recently
scanned items is shown to avoid duplicate scans.
Inventory EDGE reduces the time it takes to do inventory to one
second per item. Inventory can also be taken during store hours
and still maintain an accurate count.
